Visiting Studio Classroom

April 24th, a day that I was very expected, was the day that we went to Studio Classroom.

Why I was very expected? That was because I have listened to this magazine since I was in third grade. I want to see the “real teacher” that time.

Thursday is a windy day, but my heart is burning. I can’t help my mine to think about going to Studio Classroom on morning. We took the bus to there, and their worker standed out of the building waited us, we were a little late.

We were taken to a big meeting room, and they played the vedio about Studio Classroom’s history to let us Know more about Studio Classroom.  And then, I were taken to the studio to see how do the teachers record the vedio. Cambell was there and there was another new teacher named Simon was recording the vedio with he. And we also saw Hazzle playing the mustard bottle there(laugh), the title of the class called “mustard muesum”. We took the photo with them and I finally knew their background is unreal, it is complex! I was very surprised about that! I always thought there is a real corner, and the teacher was recorded on the corner! We also saw the musical room, the film edit room, and the”advanced” recording room.

The teachers are very humor and wonderful. I hope next time, when I visit there again, I can be braver to speak more English to the teachers!

It was a wonderful afternoon C:

being an architect is my dream

Being an architect is my dream.

I think it started when I was in elementary school. I’ve studied interior design since I was in fifth grade. When I started senior high life, my interest in architecture became so strong that I determined to be an architect. And now, I’m going to tell all of you about my hero.

My hero’s name is Ito Toyoo, a Japanese architect. Mr. Ito always uses special line to design the architectures. Just recently, Taipei Art Museum is displaying posters of Mr. Ito’s art works. I went to the museum to let me know deeply about Mr. Ito the other day.

This display was called “derivational method”. My mom went to see the display with me. We appreciated the poster very carefully because we didn’t want to miss anything. The first thing that impressed me is a gallery in England, which is called “
蛇形藝廊” in Chinese. Every summer, the gallery is removed. Another architect would design another style of the gallery, but the designer couldn’t get any price in England. Mr. Ito got this case in 2002. He designed a special box-shaped building. Even though the gallery looks like a box, it was made by many black and transparent triangles. It’s a special gallery.

Second, I want to talk about a building in Shibuya-ku. It is a building of” TOD’S,” a famous brand of bag and shoes (I think girls know deeply). Ito wanted the building to be able to merged with the nature. He designs the outside just like the trees climbing on the building. It’s so attractive on the street, not only during the daytime, but also at night. When the night comes, the building looks exactly like a tree on street. I was very surprised when I first saw it.

The third thing I want to talk about is a jewelry building in Genzo. The special thing in this building is it’s pink and it just like a pearl on the building! The wall was painted four times to make it look like a pearl. Ito didn’t design any traditional windows on the building, he used his creativity to make the window merged with the wall and become part of it.

I’m very happy that Taipei Art Museum can display Ito’s pieces, and I spent all the morning to “talk to Ito”`. What a wonderful experience! When I came home, I just could not stop thinking about the architectures, so I made two model of the 蛇形藝廊 and the TOD’S.

The model of 蛇形藝廊 I made.

The model of TOD’S I made.

The TOD’S outside is like this paper tree cross and overlapping together.

I have another hero which is closer to me. She is my mom, Teresa.

My mom is a common house worker, but for me, no one can displace her. When I am sad, she always cheers me up and tells story to let me fell “there was someone who had a more difficult situation than you .” If I am distress, she will take me to any where to let me fell more comfortable. She does not care she had a meeting with her friends, she will cancel the meeting and accompany with me.

Since I was in senior high school, mom started to tell me some of her care, and I gave her some comment just like she gave me. I feel our heart is closer when we are telling each our own cares.

When she need me, I want to stay with her whenever I can. Although my mom is a very common woman, no one can display her in my heart. Mother’s day is coming, let me tell her one sentence, “Mom, I love you.”

project “what did you eat?” reflections

On the third and fourth weeks, our English class started a new project called “what did you eat?”

First, we wrote our own daylife with “What time do we eat?” and “What things do we eat?”. In this project, I found that I eat lss everyday! How come I ate so less food, but didn’t cause and things to my body? I’m wondering and afraid that my body will be unhealthy? I think I should eat more kinds of food to let me have a healthier body.

Second, I found one thing in this project. In nowadays, most family did’nt have meals togather. I think my family is an exception, we have meal almost everyday no matter school days or weekends. My mom and I prepare all the food for my family. I think it’s a good thing to have meal with family because we can talk or share our day with them. It can make us to understand each more.

To sum up, eating is a very important thing in our life. Many of us have to change our eating habbit. How to eat healthier and more nutritional is what we have to learn.

The play

Today, we play the play three times.

My role is a narrator, I think that’s ok for me, but practice three times is a big task, I felt tired and thirsty very much. Oh, please let me have a rest!!

LI was born in Ching Daw(青島). It is in China. It is a very beautiful place with a lot of mountains and it is next to the sea. Oh, because there was dominate by Germany , living there was like living in foreign country.

SThat’s so special, and how was your childhood?

LIt was an easy life. When the weather was cold, my sisters, brothers and I played the snowball, when it was hot, we rode the burro(驢子) to go swimming. Oh, I have four older brothers and three younger brothers.

SWow, sounds like you wew in a very big family. When did you come to Taiwan? Did you go to Taiwan by yourself?

LNo. I went to Taiwan with my parents and little brothers when I was graduated form high school. My older brothers worked in China , Hong Kong, and Japan .

SDid you go to the university in Taiwan ?

LYes, I went to 東吳大學英文系. My English is very good when I was in Ching Daw.

SWow, you are very smart. Did you graduate from that school?

LNo, when I was in the second grade, I got a job at 美軍顧問團, so I left the campus.

SHow did you know grandpa?

LHe is my coworker’s friend.

SDid you marry soon?

LNo, because your grandpa was transferred to another post, he had to move to Shin Ing(新營), so I followed him there, and I quitted my job.

SWhat a brave decision.

LThanks.

SSo why did you move to America now?

LBecause my son studied there and he wanted me to move there living with him.

SThat’s a good decision. America is a good place for living.

LThat’s right. I feel comfortable there.
